Since this is a free-form game, there are no dice, no attribute points, no paper sheets, etc. The characters do have some limitations to their creation, which are as follows
We are a role-playing game that focuses solely on individuals who can use magic. There are thirteen main traditions and several different branches. If you are interested in playing something unique, please feel free to ping The Storyteller with your concept.
There are two ways you can submit a character. You can copy this thread and send it to The Storyteller or use our built-in feature on our RP forum. Just fill in the blanks on your profile.
HISTORY & PERSONALITY
History: What is your origin? Which tradition of witchcraft do you belong too, or were you a mundane who stumbled on magick by chance? This game is all about creativity, so we are open to expanding our world to fit your creative needs. We need a detailed recount of your character’s backstory up to this point.
Physical Description: Describe your character, and how they look. Please include a description of your character that includes their style (or lack thereof), what kind of accent they might speak in, how they carry themselves, how tall they are, and so forth. Essentials like hair, skin and eye color are necessary.
Strengths & Weaknesses: These are small lists of character traits, be it personality-wise, physicality, or what have you. Whatever you write, please know that the strengths must balance the weaknesses! So if you list five strengths, list five weaknesses as well. Please try to keep this as balanced and realistic as possible.
Goals: These can be immediate or long-term! It’s good to know what your character might be up to in the city.
Attunement: Watchtowers are the creators of magick, and all witches get their ability to use magic from them. Each Witch in our game has a particular Watchtower they are in-tuned too. Do not be alarmed; this is not some hokey Captain Planet BS. Those belonging to the Watchtower of Earth are more likely to be more capable of Earth-related magic, have more down-to-earth (no pun intended) personalities, etc.
Meanwhile, a person attributed to the Watchtower of Fire may have more of a fiery temper and may enjoy playing with fire. These things come quickly to him or her. Simply put, it helps narrow down what your supernatural ability is, and help streamline personality traits. Have fun with it!
– Watchtower of Earth
– Watchtower of Air
– Watchtower of Water
– Watchtower of Fire
– Watchtower of Spirit
– Watchtower of Metal *
* Metal is a new watchtower, brought on by the use of technology. Therefore, only half-blooded or carrion witches can access it.
Affinity: One aspect of your element that you and only you can claim. Something to separate one witch from another who share the same affinity.
Magickal Ability: Your character has been blessed by their chosen watchtower with some form of rare supernatural ability. Some characters are naturally born with these abilities or cursed by them (etc.) depending on their origin.
Keep in mind that these are not unlimited superpowers! They will grow with the story, and we try to keep things realistic and natural. No X-Men here! Your ability is tied directly to your element, which should align with your concept.
Witchmark: Witch marks are a visible mark on their body or a peculiar trait about a character that identifies them as supernatural. Some suggestions for this are unusual eye color, odd-shaped birthmarks, an off-color swipe of hair, a third nipple or an enchanting voice. Please note we are not taking any “presence” for your witch mark. It does have to be a physical mark on your character’s body. Be creative!
